Lois Hole Hospital for Women (LHHW)

The Royal Alexandra Hospital’s Lois Hole Hospital for Women is committed to improving health outcomes for women and their families through research.

In 2018, we opened The Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Research Centre, which provides clinicians and scientists access to a fully equipped, dedicated space to investigate health issues impacting all ages and stages of women’s lives.

The research centre has been made available through the vision and generosity of the partnership between, and donations from, Alberta Health Services, the University of Alberta and the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation.

Since its inauguration, hundreds of research participants have visited the space and taken part in a variety of research studies including reproductive health and preconception, pregnancy, mental health, urogynecology, and mature women’s health.

Lois Hole Hospital for Women staff and physicians facilitate numerous clinical studies, offering patients and their families the benefits of the latest advances in medical knowledge and effective, evidence-based care.
