Remember to bring:

  • Your Alberta Healthcare card and government issued photo ID for registration.
  • A complete list of medications.
  • Your appointment letter.

Finding Us

The Heart Rhythm Device Clinic is located on the 2nd floor of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute (Maz). From the east parkade, take the 2nd level pedway towards the Maz, pass the information desk and turn right into the 2A7 waiting room where you can check at one of the registration desks.

From the Health Sciences/Jubilee LRT station, take the escalator upstairs and use the 2nd level pedway to cross 114th street to enter the University of Alberta Hospital. Head straight past the café and look for the signage to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute on your right hand side.

If entering through the main entrance of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute on the main floor, turn right for the elevators. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, pass the Information Desk and turn right into the 2A7 waiting room where you can check at one of the registration desks.

What to Expect

Once you arrive at the clinic, please will check in at the registration desk. You may be in the clinic for several hours, so please come prepared.

During this time, you will see several different professionals who specialize in heart failure including: a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, a registered dietitian, a pharmacist and a cardiologist.

After a thorough assessment, your Heart Function Clinic care team will talk with you about how best to treat and manage your heart failure as well as follow up treatment and care.
