Hours temporarily reduced at local ambulatory care centre

October 18, 2021

LA CRETE — Operating hours at the La Crete Advanced Ambulatory Care Centre are being temporarily reduced due to a physician shortage.

From Oct. 18 to Oct. 22, the centre will be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

AHS is working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. Nursing staff will remain on-site until 9 p.m. each night, providing triage, assessments and, if necessary, referrals to the St. Therese General Hospital in Fort Vermilion, 45 km away.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.

The centre will return to regular hours on Oct. 23 at 10 a.m.

AHS is grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff, and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
