Hours temporarily reduced at La Crete ambulatory care centre

October 21, 2021

LA CRETE — Operating hours at the La Crete Advanced Ambulatory Care Centre are being temporarily reduced due to an unexpected physician and staff shortage.

From Oct. 21 to Nov. 4, the centre will be open between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays and closed on weekends. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

AHS is working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. EMS calls will be rerouted to surrounding facilities, including St. Theresa General Hospital in Fort Vermilion, 45 km away, and the Northwest Health Centre in High Level, 112 km away.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.

The centre is expected to return to regular hours on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m.

AHS is grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff, and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
