Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency Department temporarily without physician coverage for 48 hour period

August 12, 2022

BEAVERLODGE UPDATE— The Emergency Department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital will temporarily be without physician coverage for 48 hours from 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 to 8 a.m., Monday, Aug. 15, 2022.

AHS is working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. Physician coverage in the Emergency Department will resume Monday, Aug. 15 at 8 a.m.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the Emergency Department providing triage and assessments and referring patients to healthcare facilities in surrounding communities as needed.

This is a temporary measure and AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS will be re-routed to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (42km) or the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River (100km).

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.

We are thankful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
