High Prairie Community Health and Wellness Clinic re-opens

May 9, 2023

HIGH PRAIRIE — The Community Health and Wellness Clinic at the High Prairie Health Complex (HPHC) will reopen on Wednesday, May 10 at 8:30 a.m.

Any pre-booked appointments at the Community Health and Wellness Clinic will continue as planned at that time. Walk-in clinic service will also resume normal operations on May 10, with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis.

All other appointments including laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, mental health and public health in High Prairie remain postponed at this time. Clients will be contacted directly by AHS to be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Patient safety and care remain our top priorities and we are working hard to ensure the community has care available. No additional services at HPHC are re-opening at this time. Inpatient admissions continue to be paused. EMS remains available to the community and will transport patients to nearby facilities as needed.

The HPHC and J.B. Wood Continuing Care Centre were temporarily evacuated and closed due to threat of local wildfires on May 6. AHS has been reaching out to families and loved ones of the evacuated inpatients and residents with information. If you have not been contacted, please reach out to HealthLink at 8-1-1 (patients) or Continuing Care Access at 1-855-371-4122 (residents).

We are extremely grateful for our frontline teams, staff and physicians who have come together to support the response across AHS.
