Temporary closure upcoming at Coronation Hospital Emergency Department

June 16, 2023

CORONATION — The Coronation Hospital and Care Centre Emergency Department (ED) will be temporarily closed starting at 8 a.m. Monday, June 19 and will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, due to a gap in physician coverage.

This closure is a temporary measure. Nursing staff will be present at the site during this closure to provide first aid and triage patients presenting to the ED to other facilities in surrounding communities if necessary. EMS will be available to transport patients to other facilities depending on their condition.

All other services at the site will continue to operate as normal through this closure. Inpatient units are not affected.

Patients requiring emergency medical care during this time are asked to call 911. EMS will re-route to surrounding facilities, including the Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, the Hanna Health Centre, and the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.

AHS is grateful for the support of surrounding health-care centres and medical staff, and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
