CORONATION – Due to gaps in physician coverage, the Coronation Hospital and Care Centre Emergency Department (ED) will be temporarily closed over the following dates and times:
These closures are a temporary measure. Efforts to secure locum coverage to mitigate these gaps for the community continue though efforts have been unsuccessful thus far. Should any of these gaps be filled, the community will be notified.
Nursing staff will remain present at the site during the closures to assess any patients who present to the ED. They will provide first aid where needed and refer patients to alternate care facilities in surrounding communities should their condition require it.
EMS will be available to transport patients to other facilities depending on their condition.
All other services at the site will continue to operate as normal throughout each of these temporary closures. Inpatient units are not affected, and patients will continue to receive the care and support they need.
Patients requiring emergency medical care during this time are asked to call 911. EMS will re-route to surrounding facilities, including the Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, the Hanna Health Centre, and the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.
Residents are also reminded they can call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.
