Temporary disruption at Boyle Healthcare Centre

August 9, 2024

BOYLE — The Boyle Healthcare Centre emergency department will be temporarily closed beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, until 9 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 11, due to a lack of registered nursing staff and an inability to secure temporary coverage.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS will remain available in the community as per standard procedures and will work with surrounding healthcare centres to ensure residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need. Signage will be posted at the door.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Depending on their needs, patients seeking care at the ED in Boyle made aware of services available through local pharmacies.

The ED continues to be temporarily closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.

If coverage is found, disruptions may be cancelled.

This is a temporary measure and AHS is working hard to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.

We are grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
