ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE – Due to a clinical personnel shortage and inability to secure temporary coverage, the Rocky Mountain House Hospital and Care Centre emergency department (ED) will be closed from Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. to Feb. 25 at 7 a.m.
During this time, nursing staff will remain on-site in the emergency department assisting in redirecting/referring patients to alternate emergency departments in neighbouring communities, or other appropriate levels of service, as needed.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency during these times. EMS will remain available to the community and will be re-routed to surrounding facilities, including Myron Thompson Health Centre in Sundre, Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre, and Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
Community members are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is grateful for the support of staff and physicians who have helped minimize this temporary disruption as much as possible. Additionally, AHS appreciates the support of surrounding healthcare centres and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
