High Prairie emergency department to close overnight

March 22, 2025

HIGH PRAIRIE — The High Prairie Health Complex emergency department (ED) will be temporarily closed from 11 p.m. Saturday, March 22 to 7 a.m. Sunday, March 23 due to a gap in registered nurse (RN) coverage.

This is a temporary measure. Patients requiring emergency medical care during this time are asked to call 911. EMS will re-route to surrounding facilities.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.

AHS is grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
