Temporary disruption at Peace River Emergency Department

June 30, 2025

PEACE RIVER — Alberta Health Services (AHS) is temporarily closing the Emergency Department (ED) at the Peace River Community Health Centre, due to an unexpected shortage of clinical operations personnel and an inability to secure temporary coverage.

From 3 p.m., Monday, June 30 to 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, there will be no staff available in the Peace River Community Health Centre ED. Nurses will remain on site in Acute Care.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency during this time. EMS will remain available to the community and will be re-routed to surrounding facilities.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.

AHS is grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.

Alberta Health Services provides a range of healthcare services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta.
