Temporary service advisory for Tofield Health Centre Emergency Department

TOFIELD – Due to a clinical personnel shortage and an inability to secure temporary coverage, the Tofield Health Centre Emergency Department (ED) will be without on-site physician coverage from 8 a.m. Monday, July 13 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 15.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the ED to assess any patients who may present to the site, and to redirect them to alternate care options depending on their needs. EHS will be available to transport patients to alternative facilities as needed.

During this time, patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are also encouraged to call their family physician.

AHS continues to work to find clinical personnel coverage for this time period. If coverage is found, this service advisory will be cancelled.
