MILK RIVER – The Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department (ED) will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m. Friday, September 9 to 8 a.m. Monday, September 12 as it will be without on-site physician coverage.
This is a temporary measure and AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.
Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for individuals in community support beds and long-term care residents.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS calls will be re-routed to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge (87 km). Patients seeking care can access emergency services at the Raymond Health Centre and Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are also encouraged to call their family physician.
