Renfrew Recovery Centre is a inpatient facility offering people medically supported detoxification services for withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs, as well as gambling stabilization in a safe and supportive environment.

As part of Recovery Alberta's network of services throughout the province, Renfrew provides 24-hour care by competent, caring staff including nursing, client care assistants, addictions counsellors and physicians. 

We are a tobacco and vape free site.

Admission

Admissions are daily. Clients usually remain at the centre for 5-8 days but stays can vary depending on the severity of the withdrawal or post detox treatment planning.

Visitors are not allowed. Services are confidential, effective, voluntary and covered under AHC.

For Your Stay

What to Bring

  • Alberta Health Care # (if available)
  • All prescription medications in the bottle prescribed in by physician
    • Medications must be approved by staff
  • 3 days' worth of clothing and only enough toiletries to fill a large Ziploc bag
    • Daily complimentary laundry services and basic toiletries are available
    • Clients may bring enough undergarments for their entire stay
    • Clothing must not promote alcohol or drugs or have offensive slogans or images
  • One pair of shoes and one pair of sandals/slippers
  • Free local phone and long distance call access is available
    • Cell phones are not permitted and will be locked up until time of discharge – write down any phone numbers you will require from your phone

What NOT to Bring

  • Products containing alcohol
  • Tobacco products, you will be provided with nicotine replacement therapy during your stay.
  • Over-the-counter medications, vitamins, herbs, etc
  • Perfume, cologne, body spray, or heavily scented products
  • More than $200 cash or anything of value (i.e. jewelry, electronics)
  • Weapons, tools, or sharp objects
  • Electronics (i.e. iPods, tablets, laptop)
  • Bedding, bath linens, pillows, stuffed toys
  • Food or drink
