What to Expect
A nurse from the Pre-Admission Clinic will call you between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. one to four weeks before your child’s surgery. Keep a phone nearby and ensure your contact information is up to date.
The nurse will ask you questions about your child’s health history and explain how to get your child ready for surgery. They will also be able to answer any questions that you may have.

Tips for preparing for your child's medication list:
- Write down every item your child takes – this includes vitamins and herbal supplements
- Include how much and how often they take it
- Keep the list up to date. It is a good idea to bring this list with you the day of your child’s surgery
- Here is a resource to help you create a list of Medication Lists and Tools
- If you are unsure, ask you pharmacist to print you a list of your child’s medications
