The working leader is responsible for cleaning regular patient rooms, isolation rooms and discharge/transfer rooms, washing walls, cleaning floors, using industrial equipment and hospital-approved cleaning products, and collecting and transporting waste.
Working leaders also organize staff workloads, provide direction and guidance to staff, and assist with scheduling, department organization and quality audits. As part of their role, Working leaders ensure all duties are completed according AHS standards.
Working leaders are located in a number of different facilities including hospitals, medical centers and continuing care facilities. They may work full-time or part-time hours. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, nights and weekend shifts. In rural areas, working leaders may oversee multiple locations.
Physical requirements of this position include repetitive bending, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods of time, lifting, pushing or pulling heavy and bulky items.
