Supervisors are responsible for providing direction, team leadership and organization through expert advice, interpretation of policies and procedures, and resolution of issues to ensure effective and efficient operations of daily activities.

They are the go-to person for questions, concerns, or issues concerning their team’s area of responsibility, lead, and contribute to their team’s success.

Duties

  • Provide direction, team leadership, and organization through expert advice, interpretation of policies and procedures, and resolution of issues
  • Help ensure effective and efficient operations of daily activities
  • Coordinate all necessary training, work schedules, staff coverage and approve vacation requests
  • Ensure that policies, regulations, and procedures are appropriately applied within the department as well as throughout the province

Make a Difference

  • Ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality delivery of programs and services
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage, and that staff have the knowledge, skills, and resources to be successful at their jobs
  • Uphold AHS policies, procedures, and regulations in support of the vision, mission and values of the organization

Work Collaboratively

  • Work closely with members of their staff, union representatives, and other departments
  • Work on-site at health facilities or in corporate offices
  • Travel may be required, or may work in a remote/hybrid capacity, depending on the role
