Bachelor of Nursing - Rural Community

Wainwright Graduate Nursing Program

Become a registered nurse in your community

Interested in making a difference where you live? Small towns across Alberta are becoming home to a unique undergraduate nursing program, one that is centered on providing a world-class nursing education directly in the local community.

Alberta Health Services has partnered with the University of Calgary to offer a bachelor's degree program in nursing in Drayton Valley and Wainwright. Courses are offered online, with labs and clinical practice delivered in-person at sites in both communities. This program gives individuals a unique opportunity to become trained healthcare professionals in their hometown. The first cohort of eight students started September 2021 in Wainwright and upon successful completion of their studies, will be awarded a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Calgary.

Gain a world-class education in your community and find the opportunity to give back as a registered nurse.
