Keeping Our Hospitals Safe

Help us keep patients, visitors, physicians, staff, and volunteers safe by following hospital safety measures, treating others with respect, and leaving prohibited items outside the hospital. Additional safety measures may apply in some emergency departments (EDs).

All Hospitals

Prohibited Items

Do not bring prohibited items into an AHS hospital. If you have a prohibited item with you, leave it in your vehicle or give it to a family member, friend or support person to keep safely outside the hospital while you receive care.

For examples of prohibited items, see the poster below. Emergency departments can download and display this poster.

Safe & Respectful Care

Help foster a safe and respectful environment for everyone by understanding patient and visitor expectations in our hospitals and our zero-tolerance approach to harmful behaviour.
