AHS is committed to Antimicrobial and Diagnostic Stewardship. The Appropriateness & Stewardship in Asymptomatic Bacteriuria (ASAB) Initiative has developed evidence-based tools to assist clinicians with optimizing urine testing and identification of urinary tract infections in order to only use antibiotics when necessary.
This interdisciplinary, province-wide project aims to reduce inappropriate urine testing and antibiotic treatment of asymptomatic bacteriuria.
