Early Pregnancy Assessment & Pregnancy & Infant Loss

Information for Albertans

Early Pregnancy Assessment (EPA) provides education and treatment for suspected or confirmed pregnancy loss under 20 weeks' gestation.

Clinics provide expectant, medical, or surgical options for the management of an incomplete miscarriage or pregnancy of unknown viability.

Pregnancy and infant loss, the death of a baby during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly after birth, includes a range of experiences, such as miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, and neonatal death.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Programs in Alberta provide counselling services for individuals or couples as well as memorial services, events of remembrance and mementos for parents and family members who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss.
