Newly created with the AHS restructuring in the summer of 2009, the Client Services department on the Business Performance Team is the first point of contact for any and all inquiries regarding the services of the Laboratories within Alberta Health Services. The department fields questions and concerns that may need referral, action or further investigation. In essence, this area facilitates many initiatives, actions and resolutions that may be required to maintain laboratory services' efforts to maintain highest quality of care and attention within the Laboratory. All the incoming inquiries are tracked and logged in an internal database.
Communications in the form of bulletins and alerts are also processed and distributed by this area. Currently, Client Services maintains and updates regularly the Edmonton Zone Guide to Lab Services with the intent to further expand this to the maintenance of an anticipated Provincial Guide to Lab Services. Requisition revisions, updates and creations are also a facilitating operation of this area.
