Hospital’s north entrance to close for five months

March 16, 2015

LETHBRIDGE – The North Atrium entrance at Chinook Regional Hospital will temporarily close Saturday to allow for excavation and installation of deep utility lines as part of the hospital’s redevelopment project.

The entrance will reopen Aug. 7.

Patients can continue to enter the hospital through the South Atrium, the Auxiliary Building (west side) or through the emergency department (east side).

For patients, visitors and staff using the parkade, the closest available entrance into the hospital is the Auxiliary Building. Volunteers, Protective Services staff and additional signage will assist pedestrians with wayfinding into and through the Auxiliary Building.

Patients and visitors may also be dropped off at the South Atrium parking loop or they can use on-street parking along 17 St. (outside of the Auxiliary Building) or 19 St. Additional handicapped parking stalls will be added along both streets.
