All patients successfully evacuated from Northern Lights Regional Health Centre

FORT McMURRAY – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has evacuated all patients and continuing care clients from Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, due to wildfires.

AHS has successfully moved 73 acute care patients and 32 continuing care patients out of Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

Our priority is ensuring our patients, clients and staff are safe. We are now working on transporting our impacted patients and clients to other health care facilities in the province.

A provincial team is looking at the care needs of individual patients to determine the best care plan for each patient.

AHS is working closely with our municipal and provincial partners to best support all residents of Fort McMurray – including our patients, continuing care clients and staff – impacted by the wildfires.

On Sunday, AHS staff and 11 clients were safely evacuated from the Fort McMurray Recovery Centre.

As information is known, Health Link (811) will be the place for family members to find out information on their loved ones.

AHS will continue to provide updates as they become available.
