Residents invited to share views about healthcare at public meeting hosted by Lakeland Communities HAC

August 30, 2018

ATHABASCA– Local and area residents are invited to attend a meeting of the Lakeland Communities Health Advisory Council (HAC) on September 12.

This is an opportunity for the public to meet council members, provide feedback on health services, share views about local healthcare delivery and propose ideas for improvements.

Public feedback will be shared with local Alberta Health Services (AHS) leaders to inform their decision-making.

The meeting runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Ruth King Room at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre, 3100 48 Ave.

Alberta Health Services Senior leadership will provide an update on health services in the area and a presentation will be made about Connect Care.

HACs play an important role in supporting the strategic direction of AHS by engaging members of their communities throughout Alberta in a respectful, transparent and accountable manner. Public participation is essential to improving the quality and accountability of health services. Working in partnership with AHS is an important way to ensure that services are more responsive to the needs of those who use them. For more information on the Lakeland Communities HAC, visit the AHS website.
