Public invited to share views about local healthcare delivery

WABASCA – Local and area residents are invited to attend a public meeting of the Lesser Slave Lake Health Advisory Council (HAC) on May 6.

This is an opportunity for the public to meet council members, provide feedback on health services, share views about local healthcare delivery and propose ideas for improvements.

AHS North Zone leadership will provide an update on health services within the North Zone.

The meeting runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wabasca/Desmarais Health Care Centre, 881 Mistassiniy Rd. The public are encouraged and welcome to attend the entire meeting; an opportunity for public to engage with the council is set for 7:00 p.m. Public feedback will be shared with local Alberta Health Services (AHS) leaders to inform their decision-making.

Health Advisory Councils play an important role in supporting the strategic direction of AHS by engaging members of their communities throughout Alberta in a respectful, transparent and accountable manner. Public participation is essential to improving the quality and accountability of health services. Working in partnership with AHS is an important way to ensure that services are more responsive to the needs of those who use them.
