Full services remain at Sundre Hospital and Care Centre

July 3, 2020

SUNDRE – Alberta Health Services wants to assure the community of Sundre there will be no gaps in physician coverage at Sundre Hospital and Care Centre (HCC), or any changes to patient care.

Sundre HCC continues to have full Emergency and inpatient coverage.

Our priority is the safe care of Albertans, and we have coverage plans in place to ensure consistent coverage. Many local physicians have opted to keep their privileges and appointments at the Sundre HCC.

Additionally, a number of the physicians who ended their full-time privileges have decided to provide locum coverage, should it be needed.

We value the work our rural physicians do every day to bring care to patients in communities like Sundre.

The Sundre HCC is an important part of the community, and we value the care provided inside its walls. AHS will continue to ensure that Sundre has appropriate AHS programs and services to meet the needs of the community, now and in the future.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
