Walk-in vaccination site to move from Southport building

April 19, 2021

CALGARY – Alberta Health Services (AHS) is moving its walk-in COVID-19 immunization site from the Southport building in S.W. Calgary to the Telus Convention Centre, effective Tuesday, April 20.

The larger Telus facility is set up to accommodate the larger number of people expected as access to AstraZeneca vaccine is expanded to Albertans aged 40 or over.

The walk-in location at Southport will close at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, April 19, and all eligible walk-ins (born in 1981 or earlier), will be able receive the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Telus Convention Centre location only beginning on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

The Telus Convention Center site will provide walk-in immunization from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, April 23. Further dates will be scheduled as required. The Telus site will be providing immunization to both walk-in and those who have booked their appointments online or by calling 811.

We cannot accept walk-ins for any other COVID-19 vaccines at our sites at this time.

For those who meet the eligibility requirements, appointments can be easily scheduled online on the AHS website at COVID-19 Testing / Online Booking or by calling 811.

Eligible individuals also continue to have the option of contacting their pharmacy to arrange for immunization.

Make sure you have your Alberta Health Card and photo ID ready. You will be required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer when attending the site for your immunization.
