CALGARY — Alberta Health Services (AHS) will be closing the Calgary Telus Convention Centre rapid-flow COVID-19 immunization clinic on Friday, July 30, at 7 p.m.
Until then, the site remains open for both first- and second-shot booked appointments and drop-in for mRNA vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna) from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. The clinic is for anyone born in 2009 and earlier. Please bring your Alberta Health Care card if you have one, along with photo ID. You will be required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer when attending the site for your immunization. If you are experiencing symptoms, stay home and arrange for COVID-19 testing through AHS.ca or by calling 811.
While the need for immunization continues, rapid-flow clinics are no longer required in Calgary and other areas of the province given the growing percentage of Albertans who have already been immunized.
AHS is grateful for the partnership with City of Calgary and the Calgary Telus Convention Centre for the use of the space and their oversight of the facility and parking operations. Serving as the largest immunization clinic in the city, more than 400,000 immunizations have been provided at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre since April 5. This is a great example of community, business and healthcare working together to serve the public.
Albertans are still able to be immunized at multiple locations in Calgary and the surrounding communities. Appointments for immunizations, with minimal wait times, can continue to be booked through the AHS online booking tool, Health Link at 811, as well as through local pharmacies and at physician’s offices. AHS staff who are currently supporting the Calgary Telus Convention Centre will be transferring to other AHS immunization sites.
More than 5 million doses have been given to Albertans to date. Please do your part in helping keep our community healthy by getting your immunization as soon as possible. Please be reminded that Albertans are still required to wear a face mask at all AHS sites, including immunization clinics.
