Public invited to attend family-friendly EMS Fleet Day

May 18, 2022

Events held in conjunction with National Paramedic Services Week, May 22-28

CALGARY – Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites the public and media to meet the people on our Emergency Medical Services team by taking part in EMS Fleet Day.

The family-friendly event — scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 22 at Southcentre Mall, 100 Anderson Rd. S.E. — will offer interactive ambulance and EMS vehicle tours, as well as demonstrations of medical equipment.

EMS Fleet Day is part of AHS celebrations during National Paramedic Services Week, which runs May 22-28. This year’s theme is Faces of Paramedicine. The week honours the EMS profession and recognizes the professionals who provide this vital public service. The week also offers an opportunity to better understand the importance of EMS within the healthcare system and our communities.

About 5,600 EMS staff and paramedics respond to more than 589,000 911 events each year —about 1,600 calls each day. EMS paramedics are proud to serve Albertans.
