BROOKS – The Brooks Health Centre laboratory will shift focus to the needs of emergency, inpatient and ambulatory patients, and will direct community patients to the community lab at 500 Cassils Rd. E, starting Feb. 27, 2023.
This change is one step towards the larger transition of community lab services from Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) to DynaLIFE Medical Laboratories.
As clients are currently able to book appointments 90 days in advance, clients scheduling an appointment on Nov. 30 or later (for appointments after Feb. 27) will no longer see appointments available at Brooks Health Centre. Clients can book appointments at the community lab online or by calling 1-877-868-6848.
By transitioning community lab services to DynaLIFE, APL is better able to maintain lab quality and provide a more efficient, effective and sustainable laboratory system that supports Alberta’s growing demand for lab testing. Hospital laboratories will continue to serve patients who have a requisition generated at a hospital or urgent care site, either through inpatient, emergency or ambulatory clinics.
