BEAVERLODGE — Local and area residents now have improved access to primary care with the recruitment of another family physician for the community.
Dr. Saurabh Parmar is a family medicine and emergency physician who is now practising at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital and the Hythe Medical Clinic. Dr. Parmar joins a team of six other family medicine physicians in the community.
“Dr. Parmar is a welcome addition to the physician team in Beaverlodge and Hythe,” says Travis Toews, MLA for Grande Prairie-Wapiti and Minister of Finance. “Family physicians are the cornerstone of medical care for rural Albertans and his desire to practise in this region is greatly valued.”
Originally from Punjab, India, Dr. Parmar completed his residency at the University of Alberta Rural Family Medicine Program in Grande Prairie.
Dr. Parmar and his wife enjoy outdoor activities, including cross-country skiing, and look forward to doing more exploring in the region.
