Evening adult support program launches in Rimbey next month

March 21, 2024

RIMBEY – Evening support will soon be available to local home care clients who have physical and memory challenges or chronic illness, as Alberta Health Services (AHS) expands its adult support program in the community.

Effective April 2, the adult day support program will expand to include an evening program option Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The program will be held at the Rimbey Provincial Building and Courthouse, 5025 55 St.

Adult day support programs will continue to be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Such support programs provide home care clients additional assistance to remain living in the community as long as possible by optimizing their level of physical, spiritual, social and emotional functioning. Adult day programs provide socialization, respite and education for caregivers, and professional services, including rehabilitation, social work, nursing and on-site access to physician services.

Those interested in attending the programs must be a home care client aged 18 or older who needs two or more services offered in the program. A referral and assessment by home care is also required.
