Good Earth Coffeehouse to open within the facility next year
GRANDE PRAIRIE — Grande Prairie Regional Hospital will have a new on-site restaurant next year to serve staff and visitors.
A contract has been signed to bring in Good Earth Coffeehouse, which is expected to open in the Alberta Health Services (AHS) facility next spring or summer.
“This is a significant step in enhancing the experience for everyone at the hospital,” says Carol Ellendt, AHS Acting Senior Operating Officer, Nutrition and Food Services, Laundry and Environmental Services. “We are confident that Good Earth Coffeehouse will provide high-quality meal options that meet the diverse needs of the community.”
The restaurant will be located in existing shelled-in cafeteria space, adjacent to the main hospital entrance. Work to prepare the space will begin in the coming months, including design, construction, equipment installation and staff training.
“We understand that the wait has been long, and we are committed to bringing a high-quality, Alberta-based dining option to the hospital,” says Candice Edey, AHS Senior Operating Officer for Grande Prairie. “I appreciate the patience of the community as we worked toward bringing in a restaurant that will offer fresh, healthy meals for staff and visitors.”
Good Earth Coffeehouse operates at several other AHS healthcare facilities. More details about operating hours and menu options will be shared closer to the opening date.
