Temporary closures upcoming at Stettler Emergency Department

December 19, 2024

STETTLER – Due to a temporary gap in physician coverage, the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre Emergency Department (ED) will experience the following temporary closures:

During temporary closures, nursing staff are on-site in the ED to triage, assess patients and refer patients who may present to the department to alternate care options depending on their condition.

EMS will transport patients requiring emergency care to nearby facilities, including Drumheller Health Centre, Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose, Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor or Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.

Other services at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre are not impacted by this temporary closure.

AHS is grateful for the support of staff and physicians who have helped minimize this temporary disruption as much as possible. Additionally, AHS appreciates the support of surrounding healthcare centres and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
