CALGARY – Communities across Alberta showed incredible generosity during this year’s Toys for Tickets campaign, helping bring joy to families and children this holiday season.
The Alberta Health Services (AHS) campaign, which ended on Dec. 20, allowed people who received an AHS parking ticket to donate a new, unwrapped toy instead of paying their fine. This year, more than 1,150 toys were collected provincewide. They were donated to local foundations and charity organizations, which will distribute the toys to children in the local areas.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible community that turned parking tickets into moments of compassion,” says Mark Van Damme, AHS Manager of Parking Operations. “Your support has truly brightened the season for both our staff and the young hearts that will now have more toys to play with over the holidays.”
The Toys for Tickets campaign launched in 2018.
