REDWATER – Construction is now underway on a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station at the Redwater Health Centre.
The project will provide EMS teams with improved facilities to support emergency care delivery in Redwater and the surrounding area. The single-storey building will include a two-bay ambulance garage, locker room, washroom and shower facilities, storage areas, a training room, and a crew quarter with six quiet rooms, a kitchen and shared living space. The design provides modern and comfortable lodging for EMS employees in one location.
The new station will replace the small trailer currently used by EMS staff on-site.
With a construction budget of approximately $3 million, the EMS station project is being funded through the Government of Alberta’s Rural Health Facilities Revitalization Program. The project is expected to be complete early next year.
Emergency response coverage will continue without interruption during construction.
Alberta Health Services thanks the public and staff for their understanding and co-operation while this work is underway.
