Swan Hills Healthcare Centre resumes services

June 5, 2025

SWAN HILLS — The Swan Hills Healthcare Centre reopened this morning (June 5) at 7 a.m.

The centre was temporarily evacuated and closed on May 28 due to a mandatory evacuation order as a result of local wildfires.

The emergency department and outpatient services have resumed regular operations.

Inpatient admissions will remain temporarily paused while the evacuation alert remains in effect.
EMS continues to be available to the community and will transport patients to alternate facilities as needed.

Patient safety and care remain top priorities and AHS is working to ensure the community has urgent care available.

AHS is grateful for its front-line teams, staff and physicians who have come together to support the response across AHS.

AHS provides wildfire resources for Albertans at AHS.ca/wildfire, including mental health, air quality and emergency planning links.
