SYLVAN LAKE – A newly recruited family physician is providing care to residents in Sylvan Lake and area.
Dr. Carli Van Dyk is working out of the Sylvan Medical Center and Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (SLAACS). Individuals needing a family doctor can call 403-887-2221 to inquire about availability for a meet-and-greet appointment.
“It’s a pleasure to announce the arrival of Dr. Van Dyk to Sylvan Lake,” says Devin Dreeshen, Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors, and MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake. “Her expertise will have a positive impact on our community, making a real difference in the health and well-being of local residents.”
Dr. Van Dyk received her medical education at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and practised in Cape Town, South Africa for six years prior to arriving in Canada. She is the sixth physician to join the Sylvan Medical Center and is the 18th practising in the community.
“Sylvan Lake is ideally situated in central Alberta,” says Dr. Van Dyk. “It is a family friendly community with plenty of things to do, and a beautiful lake to enjoy.”
Her hobbies include being active outdoors, cooking and baking, reading and writing, and spending time with her husband.
