LOYDMINSTER – A newly recruited family physician is now providing care to residents in Lloydminster and surrounding areas.
Dr. Jonathan Okhiku is practicing at Midwest Medical Centre, Dr. Cooke Extended Care, and Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre. Individuals seeking a family doctor can call 780-874-1077 to inquire about a meet-and-greet appointment.
“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Jonathan Okhiku to Lloydminster,” says Garth Rowswell, MLA for Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright. “His arrival means improved access to family medicine for local residents, and his commitment to continuing care and community involvement will be a great benefit to patients and families across the region.”
Dr. Okhiku received his medical education at Windsor University School of Medicine in St. Kitts, completed postgraduate medical training in England, and practised in Hampshire, U.K. before arriving in Canada.
“I began practicing in Lloydminster because I found the community accommodating, hospitable, and cordial. I also appreciate the work-life balance the city offers,” says Dr. Okhiku, who enjoys mentoring and volunteering, football, travelling, and playing musical instruments.
