RED DEER – A newly recruited urologist is now providing enhanced urinary system care for residents of Red Deer and surrounding areas.
Dr. Uday Mann offers comprehensive urologic care at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and the Central Alberta Urology Clinic. A urologist is a doctor who treats conditions related to the urinary tract and male reproductive system, using both medical and surgical approaches.
Dr. Mann welcomes all urologic consults to his practice, with particular expertise in kidney stones, enlarged prostates and laparoscopic surgery.
“We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Mann to Red Deer, where his advanced training and commitment to patient-centred care will greatly enhance urologic services for our community,” says Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services, and MLA for Red Deer-North. “His expertise and enthusiasm for serving Albertans make him a valuable addition to our healthcare team.”
“Red Deer is the third largest city in the best province in Canada,” adds Jason Stephan, MLA for Red Deer-South. “It is good to see medical professionals coming to Red Deer to serve families and individuals in our wonderful community.”
Dr. Mann completed medical school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, followed by a urology residency at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. He then pursued a fellowship in endourology and laparoscopic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
Raised in Edmonton, both Dr. Mann and his fiancée are excited to be back in Alberta, close to friends, family and with easy access to the mountains.
“Returning to Alberta to provide medical care to our home community is both a privilege and an exciting opportunity,” says Dr. Mann.
“I was also drawn to the strong, innovative urology group in Red Deer. It's an honour to join a team that’s committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mann enjoys hiking, biking, walking his dog, and skiing.
Alberta Health Services continues to recruit physicians across its Central Zone to meet community needs. AHS has physician resource planners who are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities. They work closely with various community partners and organizations, such as the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician recruitment and retention committees.
Alberta Health Services provides a range of healthcare services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Our mission is to provide excellent, patient-focused healthcare that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans. Our current focus is on reducing emergency department wait times, improving EMS response times, increasing access to surgeries, and improving patient flow.
