ST. PAUL — A newly recruited family physician is now practising at the local healthcare centre and in community, improving access to care for local and area residents.
Dr. Akinwumi Awotunde is a family medicine physician practising at the St. Therese – St. Paul Healthcare Centre and the Living Hope Medical Clinic. He is supporting the local emergency department, inpatient and outpatient services, and continuing care at the local healthcare centre, as well as providing family medicine care in the community.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Awotunde to St. Paul,” says Scott Cyr, MLA for Bonnyville–Cold Lake–St. Paul. “His arrival strengthens our local healthcare system at a time when families need timely and reliable access to care. I’m grateful for his commitment to our community and the vital support he will bring to patients across the region.”
Dr. Awotunde received his medical training in Ukraine and completed his residency in Nigeria, his home country. He is married with two children.
