CALGARY – Alberta’s health agencies came together to spread joy through the Toys for Tickets campaign, helping ensure children and families across the province feel supported during the holiday season.
Since Nov. 20, parking services across Alberta Health Services (AHS), Primary Care Alberta (PCA), Acute Care Alberta (ACA), Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) and Recovery Alberta were accepting new, unwrapped toy donations as an alternative to paying recently issued parking tickets.
The campaign wrapped up on Dec.19 and collected 1,218 toys provincewide to be delivered to hospital foundations, community partners, and local charities.
“It’s inspiring to see how people across Alberta show up for kids,” says Nick Ternovatsky, Director, Parking Services, Health Shared Services. “Each toy represents someone choosing to give kindness, and that generosity makes a real difference for families during the holidays.”
The Toys for Tickets campaign began in 2018 and continues to thrive thanks to the support of communities across Alberta.
