Covenant Care opens more supportive living beds

On June 19, Dr. John Cowell, Official Administrator for Alberta Health Services attended an official opening and blessing ceremony for Holy Cross Manor, a 100 bed supportive living facility in northwest Calgary.

“This new facility offers a range of living options so that seniors can age in place in a more home-like environment,” says Dr.Cowell.

Owned and operated by Covenant Care, Holy Cross Manor is the first of three developments on the Evanston site. The second, St. Marguerite Manor, which will open in March 2015, will add another 129 supportive living spaces. A 119-unit independent living building will follow.

Covenant Care also held a ceremony in Red Deer on June 20 to officially open Villa Marie, a 100 bed facility. Kerry Bales, Central Zone’s Chief Zone Officer attended on behalf of Alberta Health Services.
