AHS and HSAA agree to new collective agreement

EDMONTON – Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) have agreed to a new collective agreement.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with this valued employee group,” said Vickie Kaminski, President and CEO, Alberta Health Services. “We have a fair agreement that allows us all to focus on providing exceptional care to patients.”

The agreement is effective April 1, 2014, and will expire on March 31, 2017. It includes salary increases for each year of the agreement as well as lump sum payments in the first and second year. The agreement was reached following mediation.

The contract sets out terms and conditions for 19,130 paramedical technical/professional employees, comprised of a diverse group of classifications working in areas such as pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation services (physical, occupational, recreational therapists), social work, and emergency medical services (EMS).
