Dear Colleagues,
It is with deep sadness I inform you of the sudden passing of Dr. Cy Frank this morning.
Dr. Frank spent more than 30 years dedicating his life to improving health outcomes for Albertans. Cy was wholly committed to excellence in the public health system. His passion was demonstrated by his outstanding care for patients, his dedication to all health research from the bench to bedside, and his leadership in advocating for and creating positive change in our health system.
Through his vision and leadership within Alberta Health Services, and as a colleague and friend at Alberta Innovates - Health Solutions, he has touched us in many significant and lasting ways. His kindness, wisdom and generosity of spirit was a model for all of us and fuelled our desire to improve the system for those we serve. In order to truly honour his legacy, we need to continue the great work he inspired us to do. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and many colleagues.
