February 3, 2016

EDMONTON – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has commenced a search to recruit the organization’s next permanent President and Chief Executive Officer.

AHS has hired executive search firm Boyden to recruit an individual with significant experience leading large and complex organizations who can help AHS build on its successes, and focus efforts on health outcomes and quality.

The job is now posted on the AHS and Boyden websites.

The recruitment process is anticipated to take until mid-year.

Vickie Kaminski announced her resignation as AHS President and CEO last November. Dr. Verna Yiu, formerly AHS Vice President, Quality, and Chief Medical Officer, assumed the role of Interim President and CEO last month.

AHS welcomes diversity and encourages applications from all qualified women and men, including persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and indigenous persons. Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
