Advanced Ambulatory Care Service construction update

April 9, 2018

SYLVAN LAKE – Construction continues at the Sylvan Lake Community Health Centre, which will see Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (AACS) offered in the community this year.

The purpose of AACS is to diagnose and treat urgent, but non-life-threatening conditions. These include sudden illness or injury that normally could be cared for in a doctor’s office but require immediate attention. X-ray and laboratory services will also be available.

Work completed to date includes construction of treatment areas, reception and triage spaces and an additional bathroom, as well as some minor renovations to the existing Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments.

Due to a short delay in a supplier’s ability to manufacture and install a key piece of air handling equipment, the anticipated completion of the project will be pushed to early June 2018. All other aspects of the project remain under construction and on schedule.

AHS will continue to update the community as work on this project nears completion and plans for a grand opening celebration are made.
