Free workshop provides tips on managing osteoporosis

RED DEER – Anyone with an interest in osteoporosis – a degenerative bone condition that affects more than two million Canadians – is invited to attend a free workshop offered by Alberta Health Services.

Speakers at the May 16 workshop include representatives from the David Hanley Osteoporosis Centre as well as local and area clinicians.

Participants will learn about different strategies for managing osteoporosis, including staying active, the role of vitamins, diet and nutrition, as well as medication and treatment options.

The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in bone health but will be of particular interest to caregivers, clinicians and those living with osteoporosis.

The free, two-hour workshop will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites Red Deer South, 33 Petrolia Dr. Light refreshments will be provided. To register, email your RSVP to bonejoint.scn@ahs.ca.
